Ernie's

It was late and I was too bored to stay in the hotel a minute longer. I decided to go to Ernie’s pub. Although it wasn’t early anymore old Ernie’s was crowded. When I was already inside there was unusual silence because Ernie was playing the piano. Everybody was so impressed with Ernie’s show that they were all hardly breathing and standing on tiptoes to see him playing. When he finished people started clapping their hands. They were really amazed with Ernie’s performance. I couldn’t understand that. For me his talent wasn’t anything special and I got sick when I saw people’s  reaction.  Besides me, about three couples were waiting for tables. I felt depressed and sad. I even wanted to go back to the hotel, but then I decided to stay as I didn’t have anything else to do. I finally got a table. It was a small table against the wall and behind the post where I couldn’t see anything. While I was sitting in that horrible place I was looking around at girls. Some of them were really ugly. It makes me feel sorry when I see such girls. Sometimes I can’t even look at them. All of a sudden Lillian Simmons came up to me. Lillian used to go out with my elder brother D.B. .That night she was with a Navy officer. Lillian introduced me to that guy. His name was Commander Blop.  We talked for a while about my brother and then she invited me for a drink. I told her I had to go because I had a date. I knew that she wanted to be nice so that I could tell D.B. about it. when I met him. When I turned down her offer she told me to tell my brother that she hated him. Then she left. I told her that I had a date so I had to leave the pub. I even couldn’t wait for Ernie’s next performance.
