Today I found out that there is a man who wants to write a book about me! I still can’t believe it! He told me that my blog inspired him to describe my story. The writer’s name is J. D. Salinger. The title of this book will be ‘The Catcher in the Rye’. It will be a novel about my adventures and life. I won’t tell you anything more but I want to encourage you to read it when it is published.

Farewell
I was waiting for Phoebe at the Museum of art. It was already twenty- five past one and I began to get scared that maybe Phoebe didn’t get my message that I had left her that morning in her school. I really wanted to see my little sister before I headed for the west. All of a sudden I saw her. She had my hunting hat on and my big suitcase with her. She told me that she had her clothes in it and that she was going with me. I was shocked and didn’t know what to say at first. Then I told her that she can’t go with me because I was going alone. She started crying when I didn’t let her go with me. I told her to stop. I wanted to take Phoebe back to school but she didn’t want to follow me. I didn’t know what to do so I told her that I’ve changed my mind and I would stay with her. She stopped crying and told me that she wouldn’t go to school anymore. I got an idea and told her that I would let her skip school if she went for a walk with me. We went to the zoo. On our way towards the zoo Phoebe didn’t go close to me but she kept her distance. She was still angry with me. There weren’t too many people in the zoo because it was a lousy day. We stopped to watch the sea lions getting fed and then went to see polar bears. When we left the zoo we went to the park. When we were already there we noticed the carrousel was opened. I asked Phoebe whether she wanted to go but she said she was too big. I told her that she wasn’t and bought a ticket for her. I sat on the bench and watched her. She sat down on a big, old horse. When the ride was over she asked me to join her but I told her that I would just watch. I gave her money and told her to get some more tickets. Then she told me that she wasn’t mad at me anymore and asked whether I meant what I said about going home afterwards. I told her it was true. She waved to me from the carrousel and I waved back. All of a sudden it started raining. I was wet but I didn’t move from the bench. I felt very happy. I didn’t know even why. I was as happy as I’ve never been before. I was just sitting and looking at Phoebe going around and around. She looked so nice. I wish you could have been there… .

Mr Antolini
After I managed to escape from my house I went to Mr Antolinie’s apartment. Mr Antolini used to teach me English in Elkton Hills. He was a really nice man. I think he was the best teacher I have ever met. He wasn’t much older that my brother D.B. . He lived with his wife over on Sutton Place. Mrs Antolini was much older than my previous teacher and suffered from asthma. When I rang the doorbell Mr Antolini opened the door. He was really glad to see me again. When we sat down in the living room Mrs Lillian brought us coffee. She asked me not to look at her when she came in. Then we had a very long conversation with Mr Antolini about my future, plans and Pencey. He told me that he was worried about me. I told him there was no need. My English teacher was a good man. I did appreciate that he cared so much about me and my future. I was tired and wanted to go to bed but he was talking all the time. I thought he would never finish. During our chat he was drinking booze all the time and he got pretty drunk. Finally he finished giving me advice and told me to go to bed. He prepared a coach for me while I was getting undressed in the bathroom. I fell asleep immediately. All of a sudden I woke up because something very strange happened. I don’t like to mention what happened that night. I don’t really know what time it was. When I was already awake I saw Mr Antolinie’s hand on my head ! It was dark and he was sitting on the floor next to the coach on which I was sleeping with his hand on my head. I asked what he was doing. For him it wasn’t anything weird or embarrassing. I got up as quickly as I could and told my teacher that I had to go because I had left my suitcases at the station. He told me there was no need to worry because I could have picked them up the next day. Anyway I decided to leave. It was a very odd situation for me. When the elevator was finally there I got in and went down. I was sweating and didn’t know what to think about what had happended.

Phoebe
It was a cold and dark night. I was in the park. I sat down on a bench and started thinking. I was really worried that I’d probably get pneumonia and die. I even imagined my funeral! Finally I decided to go home and visit my little sister Phoebe. I missed her and wanted to talk to her. I didn’t want my parents to figure out that I went there so I had to be very careful. When I reached my house I didn’t have any problems with elevator boy. I turned out that the old elevator boy- Pete wasn’t in. There was a guy that I’ve never seen before. He was pretty stupid so it was easy to convince him that I wanted to visit our neighbors and get to our floor. Then I opened our front door with my key and went inside. It was dark and I could hardly see anything. I wanted to take off my coat and wanted to hang it up but our closet was full of hangers that made a horrible noise so I left my coat on. I started walking toward Phoebe’s room. I was walking very slowly and quietly. I was pretty sure that the maid wouldn’t hear me as she was almost deaf. The only person I was worried about was my mum. She’s a very nervous person and she often doesn’t sleep at night. When I was on my way to Phoebe’s room I figured out that I forgot about something. When my brother D.B. was in Hollywood or somewhere else Phoebe slept in his room. I turned around and went into my elder brother’s room. I turned on the lamp on the desk. Phoebe was still asleep so I decided to read her notebooks that were on the desk. Then I lit my last cigarette and woke her up. When she saw me she put her arms around me and I kissed her. She was really glad to see me. We talked about the letter that she had sent me, her play and film that she had seen with her friend. She told me that parents were out and that they were supposed to come back late. I was very happy to hear that. We had a chat about D.B’s new film and the reason why I came home so early- I was to come back on Wednesday. I told her that they let us go earlier but she didn’t believe me and knew that they kicked me out again. She was very angry about that and didn’t want to talk with me. I decided to go to the living room and get some cigarettes. When I came back to D.B’s room everything was all right again. We talked about my school and about consequences of my Pencey leaving. My little sister was really worried about me and my father’s reaction for that news. Then I went out in the living room again and called up Mr Antolini. He was my previous English teacher at Elkton Hills. He was the best teacher I’ve had. He agreed to put me up. When I came back Phoebe turned on the radio. I asked her to dance with me. She was a very good dancer and I was really proud of her. We danced about four numbers when all of a sudden we heard the front door. That were my parents! I was nervous and quickly jammed out my cigarette on my shoe and then got in the closet and shut the door. When my mother came into the room she asked Phoebe whether she had been smoking. She told my mother that she couldn’t fall asleep and just tried. Then they talked about the movie that Phoebe had seen and finally my mother left. When I came out of the closet little Phoebe wanted me to stay but I told that was the best time to get out of the house. She also gave me her Christmas dough. I didn’t want to take it at first but finally I agreed and promised that I wouldn’t spend everything. All of a sudden I started crying. I couldn’t help myself. When Phoebe saw it she put her arms around me. Finally I stopped and got out of D.B’s room. It was much easier to leave the house. I decided to walk all the way downstairs, instead of taking the elevator again. Then I went to Mr Antolinie’s apartment.

Luce
I was lonely and had nothing to do so I decided to meet with my old friend from Whooton. I gave him a buzz and we arranged a meeting that night at Wicker Bar. I was there a bit earlier so I sat down at the bar. I was drinking Scotch and watching the performance of two French ladies – Tina and Janine. One of them played the piano and the other sang. They were awful! Finally Luce showed up. We had a conversation. I wanted him to give me some advice about my life, but he told me that he didn’t feel like talking about such serious stuff. So I started asking him many questions about his life, dates and girlfriends he had. He told me I was getting too personal and sometimes didn’t answer my questions. Luce was a very intelligent guy. I think almost the most intelligent guy I’ve ever known. I really liked him and I was glad that I didn’t have to be alone. Unfortunately all of sudden Luce stood up and told me he had to go. I begged him to stay and have the last drink with me. He told me he had to go because of his date. When he left I felt very lonely. I had nobody to talk to and felt horrible.
